Ford takes the win for year over year sales with a remarkable 17.2% increase in sales volume from August 2008. Those Cash for Clunkers consumers rushed into dealerships nationwide to take advantage of the $4500 rebate that the government backed.
Thankfully so, as the Nissan Versa was the sixth most purchased or leased vehicle during the CARS program. Nissan had a record month of 18,580 vehicle sales in August compared to 8,015 last year, an increase of 131.8 percent.
Overall, Nissan sales for August were 97,580 units. A 0.2 percent increase year to year. A positive sign that we will be seeing 97,580 Nissan customers enjoy there Nissan factory warranty for the next 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
